If you use categories in qBittorrent (e.g., "TV-4K," "Music-FLAC"), assign one here.

On the right side of the window, configure the following essential settings: Key Rule Configurations

To test your setup:

qBittorrent is widely regarded as one of the best open-source torrent clients, largely due to its lightweight nature and powerful feature set. One of its most underutilized features is the integrated RSS reader.

For serious automation, skip qBittorrent’s RSS and use a dedicated tool:

By default, the RSS tab might be hidden in your qBittorrent interface depending on your version's fresh install settings. Enabling it takes just two clicks. Open . Look at the main menu bar at the top of the window. Click on View . Check the box next to RSS Reader .

This public link is valid for 7 days and shares a thread, including any personal information you added. This link or copies made by others cannot be deleted. If you share with third parties, their policies apply. Can’t copy the link right now. Try again later.

To add an RSS feed to qBittorrent, you first need to enable the RSS functionality in the settings and then subscribe to your desired feed URL. 1. Enable the RSS Reader

You will now see a new tab labeled next to your Transfers tab in the main window. Step 2: Fetch and Add Your RSS Feed URL

Once configured, open qBittorrent a week later. You will be shocked to find an entire season of your favorite show already sitting in your media folder, ready to watch. That is the power of RSS automation.

Often, you can search for a specific TV show (e.g., "Show Name 1080p") and then click the RSS icon on the results page to create a feed that only shows that specific content.

: Feeds notify the client the moment content is published, ensuring users are among the first to begin a download, which can lead to better speeds before the seeder-to-leecher ratio stabilizes. Precision Filtering

When qBittorrent attempts to download a torrent from an RSS feed and the download fails (for example due to a transient network issue), the failure is silent and persistent – no automatic retry occurs. This can be frustrating for feeds that rely on quick seeding on private trackers. There is currently no built‑in retry mechanism, but you can work around it by manually double‑clicking the failed item in the RSS article list or by using an external automation tool that supports retries.

qBittorrent will now fetch the feed. Within a few seconds, you will see the feed name appear in the left sidebar, and the matching available files will populate the main viewing pane. You can right-click the feed name at any time to rename it to something recognizable. Step 4: Set Up Automated Downloading (RSS Downloader)

After creating a rule, you need to tell qBittorrent which of your RSS feeds should be processed by that rule.
